249th Birth Anniversary of Raja Rammohun Roy
On 22nd May 2021, 249th Birth Anniversary of Raja Rammohun Roy was observed by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj in association with Government of West Bengal and Kolkata Municipal Corporation through garlanding and floral tributes at the footstep of the statue of Raja Rammohun Roy at Kolkata Maidan. Due to restrictions in gathering for the Covid-19 Pandemic situation, no prayer could be arranged at that location.
An inaugural programme was organized on the zoom digital platform on 22nd May 2021 at 10:30am by Rammohun Roy Sestercentennial Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee. Prayer was conducted by Shri Amit Das and hymns were sung by Smt. Rinadolon Bandopadhyay. Prof. Shaktisadhan Mukhopadhyay delivered an excellent insight into the topic “Rammohun Roy the Inaugurator of Modern India”.
Prof. Goutam Neogy: Remembered
Prof. Goutam Neogy left for his heavenly abode on 8th May 2021. Prof. Neogy was not only a member of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj but also closely associated in various activities of publication, library, educational and cultural events since 1972.
Sadharan Brahmo Samaj organized a memorial meeting on 20th June 2021 on zoom digital platform to remember Prof. Goutam Neogy. Prof. Shaktisadhan Mukhopadhyay, Prof. Kanilal Chattopadhyay, Prof. Sabyasachi Chattopadhyay, Prof. Anupam Gupta, Shri Tapas Bhowmick, Shri Atanusasan Mukhopadhyay, Shri Arnab Nag, Shri Biswajit Roy discussed on various works and contributions of Late Prof. Goutam Neogy. Shri Amit Das conducted the memorial meeting.
Celebration of Rammohun Roy Jayanti by Utkal Brahmo Samaj
Utkal Brahmo Samaj, Cuttack, observed 249th Birthday of Raja Rammohun Roy, founder of Brahmo Samaj, noted reformist and father of Indian renaissance on 22nd May, 2021. Prof. Sundar Rao, president of the Samaj offered floral tribute on the portrait of Raja Rammohun Roy.

Rina Nandy, daughter of Late Pradyut Chandra Roy Chowdhury and Late Manisha Roy Chowdhury and wife of Late Debabrata Nandy of Beadon Street, Kolkata expired on 20.03.2021.
The Adya Sraddha ceremony of Late Rina Nandy was observed on Saturday, 27.03.2021 morning at Sadharan Brahmo Samaj prayer hall, 211 Bidhan Sarani, Kolkata 700006. Shri Tapabrata Brahmachari conducted the divine service and hymns were rendered by Shri Supratim Chakrabarty, Smt. Sumana Mukherjee, Smt. Joyita Dey, Smt. Debjani Majumder, Shri Shankar Prasad Mitra. A short life sketch of Late Rina Nandy was read out by her son Shri Supratik Nandy. Smt. Mousumi Sengupta, daughter-in-law of the deceased and Smt. Basabi Bandopadhyay, an alumna of Brahmo Balika Shikshalaya made reminiscences on Late Rina Nandy.

Chaina Dutta and Sriman Tanmoy Ghosh, grandson of Late Kalyani Ghosh & Late Nirmal Chandra Ghosh, son of Late Mina Ghosh & Shri Asim Ghosh on 8th March, 2021 evening at ‘Hatakeshwar Bhavan’, 1 Kailash Bose Street, Kolkata – 700006. Smt. Sunanda (Rakhi) Roychowdhury conducted the divine service and hymns were rendered by Shri Supratim Chakrabarty, Smt. Atasi Nath, Smt. Sumana Mukherjee, Smt. Elora Chakrabarty and Shri Sankar Prasad Mitra.
