Book Release of “Sab Sera Mukul” at Sadharan Brahmo Samaj
Collection of the best articles from ‘Mukul’, a Bengali periodical for children which was first published in 1895 by Shivanath Shastri, Bengal’s leading reformer, educator, writer and historian and founder father of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj, was brought out by the Samaj on the occasion of Shastri’s death centenary year. Certainly a collector’s item, “Sab Sera Mukul” is a labour of love by editor Asitabha Das, who took up the painstaking work of browsing through old issues published more than a century ago, many of which are in very fragile state. The collection captures some of the wonderful stories written by the finest minds from that era. The book was released on 13th October 2018 at a programme in the Prayer Hall of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj by Pabitra Sarkar, educationist and former Vice-chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University. Prasad Ranjan Roy presided over the discourse. Asitabha Das, editor of this book also spoke on the occasion.
