Brahmasangeet Programme at Sadharan Brahmo Samaj
On 13th July, 2019 a Brahmasangeet programme was arranged at the Prayer hall of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj. At 6.30 pm the programme started after a brief prayer offered by Smt. Sutapa Roy Chowdhury. 10th volume of Brahmasangeet Swaralipi published by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj was formally released by Sri Asish Kumar Pain, President of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj. Students of “Brahmasangeet Shiksha Kendra” sung 15 Brahmasangeet conducted by Sri Samir Das.
Handwork Exhibition at Brahmo Balika Shikshalaya, Montessori Section
On 26th July, 2019 Handwork Exhibition was held at Brahmo Balika Shikshalaya, Montessori Section. Students of all classes exhibit beautiful hand crafted creations guided by their teachers. Few members of the managing committee and office bearers of the Samaj visited school. Large number of guardians and visitors visited the exhibition.
Annual Utsava at Bhawanipur Brahmo Samaj (Paddmapukur)
Annual Utsava of Bhawanipur Brahmo Samaj (Paddmapukur) was observed on 25th June, 2019 (9th Ashar, 1426) in the evening. Programme was started with a prayer offered by Sri Arindrajit Saha. Sri Prasun Ganguly narrated the brief history of the Bhawanipur Brahmo Samaj and remembered the founders of the Samaj. Retired chief justice Sri Chittotosh Mukhopadhyay spoke on this Samaj mandir and attachment with his forefathers. Councilor of ward 70 also visited Samaj on that occasion and informed that he will try his best on behalf of Kolkata Corporation to protect and restore this historic structure. Twelve Brahmosangeets written by Rammohun Roy, Jadu Bhatta, Balendranath Tagore, Satyendrnath Tagore, Somendranath Tagore, Ajyodhanath Pakrashi, Rabindranath Tagore, Dwijendranath Tagore, Jyotirindranath Tagore, Bishnuram Chakraborty, Becharam Chatterjee and Sivanath Sastri were sung by Smt. Kamalika Bandopadhyay, Smt. Sarbani Roy, Sri Romil Majumdar, Sri Subhasish Banerjee, Sri Somen Bandopadhyay and Sri Arindrajit Saha conducted by Smt. Kamalika Bandopadhyay. Sri Prasun Ganguly, Sri Abhijit Roy, Smt. Aloka Datta and Sri Tathagata Sen narrated brief life history of all the above Brahmasangeet writers before each Brahmasangeet. A good number of devotees attended the event.

Celebration of 150th Foundation Day at Cuttack Utkal Brahmo Samaj
Utkal Brahmo Samaj, Cuttack, celebrated its 150th Foundation Day on the 1st July, 2019 in a befitting manner. At the outset, floral tribute was offered on the portrait of Raja Rammohun Roy, Prof. Haranath Bhattacharya, Founder of Utkal Brahmo Samaj and all the noted Brahmo leaders of India and the State. Prof. Dipasya Kundu, Secretary of the Samaj gave a brief introductory remark about the function, Shri Amarendra Kar, Ex-President of Balasore Brahmo Samaj conducted the divine service. Brahmo Sangeet was rendered by Shri Supratim Chakravarty, Smt. Ellora Chakrabarty and Shri Bijoyram Tripathy.
The 6th edition of the Samaj’s newsletter “HITOISHI” edited by Prof. Kundu and a book on Utkal Brahmo Samaj written by Shri Amarendra Kar was released by Shri Dibbanjan Roy. The one best student each from Ravenshaw Collegiate School, Peary Mohan Academy and Bhakta Madhu Bidyapitha securing the highest marks in the Annual H.S.C. Examination, 2019 were awarded. “Sadhu Charan Ray”, “Peary Mohan Acharya” and “Bhaktakabi Madhusudan Rao” Memorial Cash Prize of Rs. 2,000/-respectively along with Certificate of Merit by Dr. P.K. Das, Dr. D.P.Nanda and Smt. Suchitra Das. The winners of Odia Essay Competition in High School level were awarded Cash prize of Rs. 1,000/-for winner, Rs. 600/- for 1st. Runner up and Rs. 400/- for 2nd Runner up along with Certificates of Merit by Shri Jagadananda Mohapatra. The meeting ended with a Vote of thanks by Prof. Sundar Rao, Vice – President of the Samaj.
Celebration of 150th Foundation Day of Balasore Utkal Navavidhan Brahmo Samaj
The 150th foundation anniversary of Balasore Utkal Navavidhan Brahmo Samaj, Maliram Saha Street, Suelpur, Balasore – 756003 was observed with much gaiety during 12-14 July, 2019.
The ‘Udbodhan’ was held on Friday, 12. 07. 2019 evening in the prayer hall of the Brahmo Samaj. The Kirtan was rendered by the choir group of Baleswar Brahmo Samaj. Thereafter the divine service was conducted by Shri Amarendra Kar and hymns were rendered by Shri Supratim Chakraborty.
On Saturday, 13.07.2019 morning the whole day festival was held. The programme started with a kirtan rendered by Shri Supratim Chakraborty. Thereafter the divine service was conducted by Shri Tapabrata Brahmachari and hymns were rendered by Shri Supratim Chakraborty and others. After the divine service Annual General Meeting of Balasore Utkal Navavidhan Brahmo Samaj took place. At the end, all the devotees took community lunch.
In the evening a discourse on the subject ‘Contribution of Brahmo Samaj in modern Odisha’ was held. The chief speaker was Dr. Arabinda Giri and the Chairman was Shri Amarendra Kar. Thereafter a felicitation programme took place wherein the eminent persons and the students were felicitated:-

At the end of the programme, all present took part in Community dinner.
On Sunday, 14.07.2019 evening Santi Bachan was held in the prayer hall of the Samaj. Shri Biswaranjan Panda conducted the divine service and hymns were rendered by Shri Jitendra Kar, Shri Sudhir Chandra Das and others.

Adya Sraddha
Lila Khan, eldest daughter of Late Upendranath Bal & Late Punyaprabha Bal and wife of Late Arun Prakash Khan of Purbachal, Salt Lake expired on 13th June, 2019 at a ripe age 99 years. The Adya Sraddha ceremony of Late Lila Khan was held on Sunday, 23rd June, 2019 morning in a Community Hall at Purbachal, Salt Lake. Shri Tapabrata Brahmochari conducted the divine service as also read out from scriptures. Hymns were rendered by Shri Supratim Chakraborty, Sourav Sengupta, Sankar Prasad Mitra and Smt. Gargi Mitra and Elora Chakrabarty. Shri Jyoti Prahash Khan, son of deceased Lila Khan read out a short life-sketch of her mother. Smt. Abha Bhattashali, youngest sister of the deceased paid homage to the departed soul of her eldest sister. Miss Joyita Khan, granddaughter of the deceased read out an obituary about her grandmother.
On this occasion Late Lila Khan’s eldest daughter of Shri Jyoti Prakash Khan donated a sum of Rs. 2001/- each to Bharatvarshiya Brahma Mandir and Sadharan Brahmo Samaj (Bhowanipore Puddapukur Brahmo Samaj)
