192nd Maghotsava Celebration at Sadharan Brahmo Samaj

This year due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions the 192nd Maghotsava was celebrated in a limited manner and most of the programmes were organised on digital platforms.

On 18th January 2022 (4th Magh, 1428) in the evening, Udbodhan of 192nd Maghotsava was organized on Samaj’s YouTube channel. Devine service was conducted by Shri Sanjib Mukhopadhyay and hymns were sung by Smt. Ditsha Sanyal, Shri Arindrajit Saha, Shri Rajnath Das, Shri Manaswi Choudhuri, Shri Subhasish Bandopadhyay and Smt. Kamalika Bandopadhyay conducted by Shri
Arindrajit Saha and Smt. Kamalika Bandopadhyay.

On 20th January, 2022 (6th Magh 1428) at 6:30 pm a lecture meeting and book release programme was organised by Rammohun Roy Sestercentennial Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee on the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharshi Debendranath Tagore titled “Rammohun to Debendranath: Succession of Social Reformation”. A short prayer offered by Shri Salil Kumar Hajra and
hymns were sung by Smt. Rinadolon Bandopadhyay, two new books published by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj were released in this programme. The speakers were Prof. Shaktisadhan Mukhopadhyay and Prof. Asish Khastagir. Shri Arnab Nag conducted the programme on zoom digital platform.

On 23rd January, 2022 (9th Magh 1428) in the morning at 10 am Mahila utsava was organized on the Samaj’s YouTube channel. Divine service was conducted by Smt. Suchita Deb.

On 24th January, 2022 (10th Magh, 1428) in the evening kirtan was rendered at Samaj premise. Devine service was organised on Samaj’s YouTube channel and conducted by Shri Aniruddha Rakshit and hymns were conducted by Smt. Rebecca Rakshit.

25th January, 2022 (11th Magh, 1428) on the occasion of the 192nd Foundation day of Brohmomandir, in the morning at 9:00 am Kirtan was conducted by Shri Suman Majumdar. Divine service was conducted by Smt. Madhusree Ghosh and hymns were conducted by Shri Debasish Roy Chowdhury and Smt. Rohini Roy Chowdhury. The entire programme was live web-casted through the YouTube channel of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj. Around 250 devotees attended the programme in the Samaj prayer hall. Packed lunch was served to all attendees.

Same-day in the afternoon at 3:30 pm Maghotsava was celebrated jointly by the
three Brahmo Samajes organized by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj on its YouTube
channel. The Divine Service was conducted by Shri Aniruddha Rakshit, Smt.
Sutapa Roy Chowdhury and Smt. Sunanda (Rakhi) Roychowdhury on behalf of
Bharatbarshiya Brahmo Mandir., Sadharan Brahmo Samaj and Brahmo Sammilan
Samaj respectively and hymns were offered by members of “Baitanik”.

Same day (11th Magh 1428) in the evening at 6:30 pm on YouTube channel of the
Samaj, divine service was conducted by Smt. Jayasree Bhattacharya and hymns
were conducted by Smt. Ritasree Bhattacharya.

On 28th January, 2021 (14th Magh, 1428) at 6:30 pm, “Santivachan” was
organised on the YouTube channel of the Samaj. Divine service was conducted by
Shri Amit Das and hymns were sung by members of “Suchana” conducted by
Smt. Rita Chakraborty.

Annual Festival of “Sadhaasram”
The annual festival of “Sadhanasram” was held in its prayer hall at 210/6B, Bidhan Sarani, Kolkata – 700006 on 1st February 2022 morning. The divine service was conducted by Shri Tapabrata Brahmachari and hymns were conducted by Shri Supratim Chakrabarty.

Adya Sraddha
Indira Dhar, wife of late Prasun Kumar Dhar and daughter of late Kamala Kanta Mahapatra and late Kanaklata Mahapatra and resident of Regent Park, Kolkata – 700 040 expired on 4th February, 2022.
The Adya Sraddha ceremony of late Indira Dhar was held on Sunday, 13th February, 2022 at Bharatvarshiya Brahma Mandir, 95, Keshab Chandra Sen Street, Kolkata 700009 in the afternoon. Shri Tapabrata Brahmachari conducted the divine service and hymns were rendered by Shri Supratim Chakrabarty, Smt. Gargi Mitra and Shri Shankar Prasad Mitra. Shri Santanu Dhar, son of late Indira
Dhar read out a life sketch of his mother through online from Chicago (U.S.A.).
